We are working on another book cover; This time for award-winning author Dan Anderson. His previous novel—Bad Vibrations—introduced Chauncey McFadden, a wisecracking Los Angeles PI.

In Anderson’s latest book, Chauncey McFadden is called into service on a cruise ship where a man winds up dead. Anderson’s writing style is fun, amid the murder, and the book cover follows suit.

Saturday was spa day with Amanda. We booked at Dolce Salon & Spa in Scottsdale and had a lovely day floating around between treatments. I shopped their impressive accessories department which includes purses and bags by a house designer. Look at those patterns! And the price was right, too. I walked out with a cute little number for spring.

Scrapbook Royalty is a 100% volunteer run organization whose mission is to raise money and awareness for noble causes through unique scrapbooking and crafting events and to promote “creative” opportunities for crafters to give to others in need. 100% of the donations raised is given to the worthy causes they support.
Elena Etcheverry, the founder and executive director, got over 300 people to come and scrapbook all day. We were knocked out by the support—and the scrapbooking pros! Visit her website to learn more… www.scrapbookroyalty.com

What a great show! I think I’m in love—with crafting, that is. We attended the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) tradeshow in Anaheim as guest demonstrators of Provo Craft products. We got to “play” with the yudu (a totally hot screen printing machine), the Cuttlebug (a die-cutting and embossing machine), and the YourStory (a book binding machine and laminator). Also being demonstrated by a pro group of folks from Provo Craft was their knockout product duo—the Cricut and Gypsy, an electronic cutting machine for paper, vinyl, card stock… the list goes on!
The most exciting news of the show was the launch of their new machine, Cricut Cake. It’s just like the paper-cutting cricut, but it cuts fondant for cakes! It is, in a word, awesome. Check out those cup cakes >>
We were sad to leave our friends, as they have a few more days at the show. As we were leaving though, they loaded us up with products to bring home to try. We are excited to get crafting to see what fun stuff we can make. Stay tuned…
